Director, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Türkiye
Frank Priess, M.A. is a German political scientist and communications expert with a long-standing career at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Since March 2026, he serves as Director of the Foundation’s Türkiye office (interim – Director Designate).
He studied Political Science, Philosophy, and Communications at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, completing his M.A. in 1985. During his studies, he was a scholarship holder of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s journalism program and gained professional experience in print, radio, television, and public opinion research.
Priess began his career as a journalist with Allgemeine Zeitung in Mainz before joining the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in 1987. He subsequently held a wide range of senior positions, including assignments in Latin America as the Foundation’s representative in Colombia, Peru, and Argentina, where he also managed regional media programs. He later served as Head of the Asia Department and Head of the Political Communications Department, as well as Head of Press and Public Relations and official spokesperson of the Foundation. From 2006 to 2012, he was the Foundation’s Representative in Mexico. He then served in Berlin as Deputy Head of the Department for European and International Cooperation from 2012 until his retirement in April 2023, concluding 36 years of service with the Foundation.
