Head of Representation in Türkiye, International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD)
Mr. Tamer Kılıç holds the position of Head of Representation Office in Türkiye of the Vienna based International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
Between 2001-2012, Kılıç took charge in the United Nations and European Union Missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in different functions focusing on migration, asylum, and border management, as well as security topics.
He worked in the field of Migration, Asylum, and Border Management at the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye between 1995-2001. From 2003 to 2012, Kılıç served as the legal adviser in charge of Migration and Border Management at the United Nations and European Union Missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in different managerial positions.
Kılıç joined ICMPD in 2013 and has been leading ICMPD projects in the areas of irregular migration, legal migration, migration and development, migration policy development, international protection, and regional cooperation since that year. He has extensive experience in migration situations in Türkiye and has good thematic expertise on different aspects of migration matters and relevant policy aspects globally.
He is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Law.
